Small-Diameter End Mill heavily reduces Cutting Resistance of the material process

time:2015-08-21
The MFH Mini from Kyocera Precision Tools is a small-diameter, high-feed end mill for rough processing, comprising an insert and dedicated holder. The insert could do smooth cutting with low resistance by applying an edge design developed to cushion initial shock at the moment of workpiece contact, therefore achieving smooth cutting with very low resistance. As a result, the product cuts chattering and enables increased feed rates. In addition, the MFH Mini provides high chip evacuation with its GM chipbreaker design. This end mill is available with both a CVD- and PVD-coated insert. The end mill’s LOGU insert and GM chipbreaker are very suitable for face milling, end milling, shouldering, contouring, slotting, pocketing, ramping and helical milling required for mold industry and other applications. The insert material exhibits increased wear and fracture resistance when the company’s CVD/PVD coating is applied to the insert’s cemented-carbide base material. This enables the processing of materials ranging from general and mold steels to traditionally hard-to-cut materials such as nickel-based, heat-resistant alloys.
